Obama's optimism makes even me feel hopeful that folks will stop treating me like crap. I'm aware that it's not true, and that even rich economic times can not erase the groove of intolerance and bigotry from the minds of others. I know a miracle can not happen. The pain that Obama speaks of- it is still in the hearts of the children of people like Reverend Wright, because the truth is that poor treatment begets anger and rage. One may hope for forgiveness, and some may, but you keep treating people like crap, and you'll never be forgiven...
