White feminists are discussing the sex lives of beauty queens. While personally, I don't like the word 'prudery' here- as it's usually used as a slam towards women who have their own sexual boundaries, I do agree with the bit about how female genitalia is considered unclean. A wing wong is considered lovable[unless it's attached to a woman- then it's OMG, A TRAP!!] unconditionally, but a vagina? They gotta be hairless, the labia has to look like this, and of course, there should be no stretch marks on the body around it...HEY, HOW COME I NEVER GET LAID?!

And in this PORN IN PUBLIC article, I get the vibe that we're supposed to be like that lady who is like ha! man! I love being exposed to porn in public! It's a dominance display in my mind. Look! I can expose you to my sexual fetishes and you can't do anything about it! Yea, and I can expose you, and your kids to my erect wing wong! I got a wing wong- gotta love it!

If you watch porn in the library, you need to be smacked, imo.

My aunt once asked why I was not higher maintenance. My body is already a strict machine, requiring abundant sleep, rest and food. The higher maintenance you are- the more hair style, makeup, brand name clothing and bags you require- the longer your work day becomes. I'll pass on the $300 bags, and take some sleeep instead.

I have to admit, the reason why I am making fun of that wife[I didn't comment, but somewhere in my heart, I LOL'd] is because that's just my personality.

I admit I did go wtf at her husband not letting her watch Friends. and laughed that she sneaks around to wear purple tights. Why do I laugh? Ok, I have to admit I'm uncomfortable and on edge these days. After hearing all day about people with husbands that say 'You're trash! No one will want you because you have kids!", this woman seems like she thinks stuff that's not quite abuse but might turn into it, is somehow this romantic ideal. It's funny because it is like a train wreck. Something tragic is happening, but you can't look away. You must laugh because you feel you may be hit by a train one day.

I'm an old maid, but what if someday I become a bride and end up having the love I thought I had dissolve into 'No sailor moon DVDS and perm that hair, you look a mess'. So I laugh. And I feel better.

OK, and I think he is being a dick about her weight. What if she has a baby? she's going to get fat then.

My hair was first "relaxed" at 4, and stayed that way until I shaved my head at 17. I still remember the huge scabs relaxer gave my scalp.

said by spike on twitter.

I'm glad someone else got huge scabs on their scalp from relaxer. I always feel awkward when people say you should get a relaxer; be professional! And I'm thinking 'why would I waste hours and tons of money on that?" My hair hates the idea of straightness. It grows quickly, and when I relax it, it's a small layer of straightness over tons of new growth.

As you all know, I'm an asshole. Piny talks about another one. I am not an expert on trans issues, but I think it's cool if piny wants to change her gender back to female from male. Her body, her business. Anyway, I'm cool with people working this out where others can see. I'm an asshole, but with the power of assholery, comes the ability of others to tell you to STFU.

When I was an evil greater asshole than I am now, I used to throw my pain at others without caring about the effects. But sadly, I'm still an asshole.

This is an amazing post. And I thought my mom was weird about lysol- once she sprayed my bed with it[I'm never letting her in my room again!], and she's all like spraying a little lysol on the children's hands never hurt[yes it does, mom. you're an idiot]. My only hang up about my vagina is that there's no cock going in there without a condom. That shit isn't called baby batter for nothing!

Also, joan kelly tells us all about vaginas.

a salon article about pole dancing.

High heels damage your feet.

Firefox 2 has eaten my bookmarks, despite me trying to import bookmarks from an earlier file and renaming an earlier file bookmarks html, so I am sad. A sad sad panda.

Also, you know what? Women writing smut=/ feminist. Especially not with the whole hey, let's stalk, abuse, and rape a girl but it totally leads to true love, right? crap running around. Urgh, at least label it a rape fantasy if you're going to write that gross crap. Yes, I said a woman can write something that sucks so much balls that it's like Gor on steroids. Cry in your pillows if you want. Just keep it away from me.

How much time it'd take me to be a 'good person', in time it'd take me to do it, not you, thanks.-

Broken down per week.

work full time- add thirty hours.

Organize my clothes by color- maybe 20 minutes per day- so 140 minutes.

Pair my socks- 10 minutes per day- 70 minutes.

Do laundry- 2 hours per week

Fold clothes and towels- 30 minutes per day- 210 minutes.

Put away clothes- 20 minutes per day- 140 minutes.

Wash the baseboards once a week- 30 minutes.

Sweep and mop the floor every day- 30 minutes per day- 210 minutes

wear makeup- 15 minutes per day- 105 minutes

Organize my shoes- 10 minutes per day- 70 minutes

Organize my books- 15 minutes- 105 minutes

so an extra 50 hours per week. And actually, I got tired of writing down these extra tasks, so it may be more. 20 hours just on housework, with one stupid girl thing added, although I might add up all the minutes that girl things would take up. School isn't included.

..if you allow your young girl to watch anything that the 'pussycat dolls present', *shakes head* you're on your own. so on your own. I remember when anything involving stripper poles would have been on at at least 10 pm, not 8.

How Martin Luther King is like Fun Feminism-

Well, it's nearly Martin Luther King day, and the use of Martin Luther King as an imaginary black friend, who never makes you have to actually go out and learn anything, will reach its peak. The current image of Martin Luther King is apolitical and sanitized. This image shows him as a kindly old grandfather mostly interested in making sure that everyone is crushed together into a bland mass of white bread. This, similar to Fun Feminism, is rightwing backlash disguised as progressivism. It allows the apperence of being liberal "see! I'm not racist! I approve of a black guy" while turning the clock back. Quote MLK out of context, and put paid to all those uppity blacks with their MC contests, Kwanzaa celebrations, and other indications that black folks don't want to take their 'places' as aspiring whites, happy to be relegated to the worst schools, jobs, etc. They try to use Martin Luther King to fight resistance to racism. By complaining about 'self segregation', they try to make it harder for minorities to gather together, gaining both political and nonpolitical means of power. Of course, the main difference between this use of MLK and fun feminism is that most people of color see the use of MLK for what it is- a political tool to keep people from upsetting the apple cart. Oddly, many women seem to believe that the apple cart is totally being upset by cute cute boots.

We continue to have our black groups, celebrations and cultures, and to fight for access to better jobs and healthcare. I think the reason why is that only a few black people can trade off 'not being like those other whiny black people' as our culture and history brings us together.* Women? we're all over the place, so it's easier to divide and conquer. Every woman for her self! If I just act feminine enough, everything will be OK! Black folks? There's a saying. What do you call a black person who has left the room?

the n word.

*I mean us black americans.

The author of this post and I laugh at the idea that women need to defend themselves from being called fat or ugly. I mean seriously, is that the worst people who like really bad comic art can throw out? Let's not give the straw men strength by responding that we too are hot. Let's blow up the straw men by denying them any validity at all. In this world, we have people who pimp out twelve year old girls, people who start wars, people who abuse children, etc, and the worst insult these people can think of is that someone isn't hot or that men don't like them? That just shows how shallow and dumb people like that are on the very surface. Saying but OMG, I'm hoooot!! sends a message that being ugly or fat is really actually bad, when it's just not as big a deal as our culture makes it out to be.

Let's not buy into that crap at all. If someone calls us fat ugly dykes, tell them that there's nothing wrong with that and to hide and go fuck themselves. People act if a woman doesn't go along with the ideals of femininity, which include going tee hee hee, I'm totally harmless, it's the worst thing a woman can do. Now, let's put this back into fucking reality. A woman could *gasp* have a hobby that has nothing to do with sexual attractiveness or display or she could throw babies into rivers, call for war on Iran, cut food to children, weaponize tuberculous, and all sorts of other things. Yet we're still fixated on a woman not being hot as the worst thing ever.

It's a shame, and it's not going to get any better if we go on about how totally hot we are instead of attacking the sexism in the idea that women aren't allowed to dislike shitty ass art.

Today's post is about an imaginary land in which there is no femininity or masculinity. Let's imagine the mall in this place. The clothing is arranged by size (for example, skirts with waist, hip and inseam). People pick the clothing that suits them best. Men(including those born as women) carry around infants and play equally with children, and women(including those born as men) are acknowledged as enjoying a wide range of interests which have nothing to do with pleasing others. Women have a lot less work to do in this utopia. The girls and boys sections of toy stores do not exist- toys are arranged by interest- cooking here, building there, and children get toys not based on what gender they are, but based on the interests of the child. Little girls have a lot more leeway to develop interests not based on looking pretty. Even the remaining beauty and fashion toys are not solely of women- you can brush and braid a man's hair too. There is no un and underpaid labor force made up almost entirely of women- men equally volunteer, clean, cook, raise babies, do the emotional labor of comforting others, etc. Of course, the emotional and physical labor of the beauty standard has disappeared. No more endless talk about how you lost 10 pounds, if you have curly or nappy hair, there's none of that spending hours in the salon attempting to straighten it or battling with a flat iron, no learning bizarre tools and techniques to fit in, etc. Invisible labor is still labor, after all.

The magazine section also looks different. There are no women's magazines as being interested in losing ten pounds and also in recipes for chocolate cake don't really go together. Oh, and there's also a lack of porn, even on the internet. People have lost interest in the extruded sex product, and spend their time having mindblowing life affirming sex instead. Being interested in seeing violence against people would be viewed sort of as we view necrophiles now- you're interested in what? Humiliating people and dominating them would be viewed as the anti sex. There also wouldn't be prostitution, as the idea that one is entitled to sex because they have money would be a foreign concept. Women and men feminized by society such as gay men and transgendered people would not have the burden of sex labor.

Schools would also be different. There would not be as much emphasis on sports as there is now. There would be exercise, but none of this "If you can't play football well at age 6, you're a total worthless loser" crap. A lot more would happen, but I can't think of it. Men and women will be free to experience a wide range of emotions, as the idea that men aren't supposed to feel sad or women are not supposed to feel angry will seem absurd. Makeup will be a lot more varied- instead of following trends, people will just paint on whatever.
